Nuvo-2510VTC
Intel’s® Atom™ E3845 Baytrail quad-core processor is a perfect fit for this specialized fanless embedded in-vehicle CAN Bus computer. This unit is PoE IP camera ready and features intelligent ignition power control with an on/off delay and battery voltage monitoring.
Small and powerful with a pedigree for light mobile applications such as NVR and mobile APNR, this tiny workhorse has the certifications and interfaces that make it a great choice for your in-vehicle project. At a mere 8.1 x 5.8 x 1.7 inches, this unit can mount vertically on its patented shock-absorbing bracket or DIN rail. Intel’s® Atom™ E3845 Bay Trail quad-core processor is extremely efficient with a TDP of 10W contributing to a -25°C to 70°C extended operating temperature with SSD at 100% load. This exceptional thermal performance is compounded by an innovative thermal transfer system that conducts heat 10x better than traditional fanless designs. The Neousys thermal pad liquefies when heated by the CPU while springs push the CPU closer to the chassis heatsink for optimal heat transfer. The wide range DC input accommodates vehicle power systems and the built-in ignition control includes an on/off delay and battery monitoring function. Due to the importance of the CAN Bus as a vehicle communications standard, an on-board CAN Bus connector was included and complies with CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B protocols. For mobile data transmission, the Nuvo-2510VTC has room for 2x USIM 3G/4G modules in its 2x mini PCI Express (mPCIe) sockets. To handle the rigors of a mobile environment, vibration and shock specifications include (with SSD) operating, 5 Grms, 5-500 Hz, 3 Axes per IEC60068-2-64 and Operating, 50 Grms, Half-sine 11 ms Duration per IEC60068-2-27. The Nuvo-2510VTC carries the E-Mark for vehicle applications CE/ FCC Class A, according to EN 55022 & EN 55024.
Nuvo-2510VTC’s Intel® Atom E3845 SOC processor boasts a 10W TDP contributing to a 95°C operating temperature delta at 100% load. This Exceptional thermal performance is also achieved through an innovative thermal transfer system that conducts heat 10x better than traditional fanless designs. The Neousys thermal pad liquefies when heated by the CPU while springs push the CPU closer to the chassis heatsink for optimal heat transfer. The 8 to 35VDC wide-range DC input accommodates a multitude of vehicle voltage bus designs and eliminates the need for a separate power adapter in many applications.
PoE+ PSE ports
The Nuvo-2510VTC integrates 2x GbE PoE+ PSE ports compliant with the IEEE 802.3at standard. PSE controllers are responsible for detecting and classifying powered devices (PDs), as well as sourcing the right amount of power to PDs over Ethernet cables. Each port can deliver up to 25.5W of power and simultaneously transfer at up to 1000 Mb/s of data over a single CAT-5e/CAT-6 cable. The built-in PoE+ ports support the per-port on/off feature allowing you to reset the connected PoE PD devices. This highly integrated design allows the Nuvo-2510VTC to effectively manage the heat generated by the PoE circuit and makes the Nuvo-2510VTC a stable fanless PoE+ PSE port embedded computer.
CAN bus
Since the widely used CAN bus standard allows in-vehicle devices to communicate with each other or with a vehicle ECU without a host, it was natural to include a CAN bus port in the Nuvo-2510VTC. The built-in CAN bus supports CAN2.0A and CAN2.0B protocol formats at up to a 1Mbps bit rate. These two frame formats make up the Data Link Layer and Physical Layer of many Higher-Level Protocols (HLPs) such as ISO TP, J1939, and OBD. CAN bus messages can be sent and received with a configurable CAN bus identifier and data byte with the included SDK. Through this feature, the Nuvo-2510VTC can process a variety of CAN-based HLPs.
Nuvo-2510VTC specialized mobile I/O includes 2x 802.3at GbE PoE+ PSE ports, 1x DB-9 CAN bus connector supporting CAN2.0A and CAN2.0B protocols. Extended input voltage range of 8-35 VDC on a 3-pin terminal block (includes ignition signal). Accommodates 2x 3G/4G communication modules in 1x full-sized mini PCI Express socket with USIM socket (PCIe + USB) and 1x full-sized mini PCI Express socket with external USIM socket (USB). Additional I/O includes 1x USB 3.0 port and 3x USB 2.0 ports, 1x DVI-I connector with DVI-D video output for 2560 x 1600 video resolution, 1x internal SATA port for a 2.5” HDD/SSD, 1x internal half-size mSATA (SATA + USB). 2x software-programmable RS-232/422/485 DB-9 connectors.
